This course provides the opportunity to experience how relaxation practices can positively impact your health and wellbeing. Learners will be encouraged to reflect on the benefits of these practices with a view to embedding them into their daily life, developing self-care tools that can support during challenging times. This course is delivered online and aims to allow learners to connect with others to explore and experience the subject of relaxation in the comfort of their own home.
Important notice:
This course is not a treatment for mental health problems, however in conjunction with other therapies practising relaxation can potentially help to improve your mental well-being. If you have recently or are currently going through a traumatic life event, then this might not be the right time for you to join a relaxation course. This very much depends on your current psychological health and the support networks that you have around you. It may be advisable in these cases to talk through attending the course with the teacher beforehand.
If you have recently received or are currently receiving treatment from a psychiatrist, psychotherapist or counsellor for an ongoing mental health problem, it is strongly advised that you obtain approval from your mental health professional before proceeding further with this course at this time. If you are currently taking medication for a mental health problem, then it is recommended that you do not change your medication, other than in close collaboration with your medication prescriber.
How long is the course?
The course is 2 hours per session and is delivered over two individual sessions or weeks.
