Please note that the College is only able to offer this course at the rates publicised on this website to those individuals aged 19+ or over on 31st August 2024 whose home address is in areas of England outside of the devolved authority areas of: Cambridge and Peterborough, Greater Manchester, Greater London, Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley, West Midlands and West of England. Where an individual resides outside of England or in one of the devolved areas then the College reserves the right to charge you for the delivery of the course at a rate of £11.25 per hour. Come along as a family to our Family Learning Spring fair and take part in lots of fun and exciting themed crafts, games and activities. Resource packs will be provided so you can take part from home.

Suitable for primary aged children and their parents/ carers.

1. Carry out at least 2 different types of creative activities, which encourage interaction, support learning and can be easily replicated again at home
2. Identify how creative activities encourage learning and the skills they develop
3. List a number of creative activities that can support a child's learning and development
4. Recognise how spending time learning together can impact positively on the family
5. Identify further learning opportunities and aspirations

Entry Requirements

In order to attend the course, learners should be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English at Entry Level 3 and above. Learners will also need a basic level of IT skills to be able to access the course and follow online instructions. If training or support is needed, please enquire about our free ICT courses.

Learners will need access to a computer, laptop or tablet device with access to the internet. 
All devices should have a camera, sound and a microphone so they are able to interact with their teacher and peers during the course.
The course will be delivered online using Zoom and learners will be sent the join details and links prior to the course. Both of these online platforms can be accessed via an app on a smart phone, tablet or iPad or alternatively via the relevant website: https://www.zoom.us
All learners will need to enrol online prior to any course starting through the colleges online enrolment portal: https://enrol.lal.ac.uk/

How Your Course Will Be Assessed

Learners attend via the online platform Zoom on a set day and time. The sessions will be delivered live and learners will be supported to work through the course content. In addition to this, learners will be given access to Moodle (VLE – Virtual Learning Environment) so activities can be completed during and between sessions to record progress and achievement.

• The teacher will use a range of activities to review learner’s knowledge throughout the course and identify any gaps and additional information required
• Learners will receive feedback in order to further develop their knowledge
• Learners will assess their knowledge at the start of the course and again at the end against the learning outcomes. This allows you to identify how much you have learnt and where you might need to do further study or research.
• Learners will also be supported to set an individual target(s) for the course based on personal goals and aspirations.

How long is the course?
This is a single session, 1.5 hours in length

You will be sent a list of materials needed for the session, for example, glue stick, cellotape, paper and pens.

So the course can start on time, it’s important to be ready to join your online course 15 minutes prior to the official start time.

It would be useful to have a pen and paper so you can make notes throughout the course

Cant Apply Reason
The online application and enrolment process is really simple, once you have clicked the “APPLY" or "ENROL” button you will be redirected to the portal where you either log in or create an account (if you haven’t done so previously). We will then ask you to give us a couple of bits of information like address, mobile phone number ect and that’s it.
Once your applications has been made the next step will be for you to book yourself onto one of our interview evenings, depending on availability you might be able to do this straight away but otherwise we will get in contact to arrange when you come in for an interview.
At any point you can log back into the portal throughout the year, update information like your predicted GCSE grades, update contact and consent information and keep a live track of your application.
