Calling all animal enthusiasts!
We've got an amazing half-term treat for you and your children in store.
What's on offer during the session?
*You'll be introduced to strange animals that you won't even believe are real, carry out a fun feathery
science experiment, make a cute craft, take part in an exciting predator game, and much more! All whilst
learning and spending some quality time together as a family.
*As with many of our special events, you'll also receive a free resource pack on enrolment.
Suitable for primary school aged children and their parents/ carers.
Please note this course is free to Lancashire residents (excluding devolved postcodes.)
This course is 1.5hrs.

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
1. Carry out at least 2 different types of activities, which encourage interaction, support learning
and can be easily replicated again at home
2. Identify how creative activities encourage learning and the skills they develop
3. List a number of creative activities that can support a child's learning and development
4. Recognise how spending time learning together can impact positively on the family
5. Identify further learning opportunities and aspirations

Entry Requirements

In order to attend this session you should be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English at Entry Level 3
and above.
Learners will need access to a computer, laptop or tablet device with access to the internet.  
All devices should have a camera, sound and a microphone so they are able to interact with their teacher
and peers during the course. 
The course will be delivered online using Zoom and learners will be sent the join details and links prior to
the course. Zoom can be accessed via an app on a smart phone, tablet or iPad or alternatively via the
relevant website: https://www.zoom.us. All learners will need to enrol online prior to any course starting through the colleges online enrolment portal: https://enrol.lal.ac.uk/ Direct enrolment links to specific courses will be provided.

Learners attend via the online platform Zoom on a set day and time. The sessions will be delivered live and learners
will be supported to work through the course content. Different worksheets and websites will be used to enhance
and reinforce teaching and learning.

During the session you will have the opportunity to discuss your progress with the teacher and feedback will be
provided. You will also be encouraged to provide course feedback to your teacher and take part in end of course

So the course can start on time, it’s important to be ready to join your online course 15 minutes prior to
the official start time.
The Additional Learning Support Team work across college supporting students with a variety of learning

It would be useful to have a pen and paper so you can make notes throughout the course. It is also advised
to have some scissors and a glue stick to hand. The resource packs contain all other resources you will need

The online application and enrolment process is really simple, once you have clicked the “APPLY" or "ENROL” button you will be redirected to the portal where you either log in or create an account (if you haven’t done so previously). We will then ask you to give us a couple of bits of information like address, mobile phone number ect and that’s it.
Once your applications has been made the next step will be for you to book yourself onto one of our interview evenings, depending on availability you might be able to do this straight away but otherwise we will get in contact to arrange when you come in for an interview.
At any point you can log back into the portal throughout the year, update information like your predicted GCSE grades, update contact and consent information and keep a live track of your application.
