What will I learn?
What Will I Learn
1: Support and promote children’s play, development and early education.
2: Develop relationships with children to facilitate their development
3: Plan, provide and review care, play and educational opportunities to enable children to progress
4: Safeguard and promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children
5: Work in partnership with colleagues, parents, carers and other professionals to support children’s development
In Year 1 you will study the core content of the Education and Childcare T Level and gain a comprehensive overview of key concepts required to work in the sector. This will be assessed through the completion of an Employer Set Project and two Core exams at the end of the first year. A series of practice assessments will be undertaken throughout the academic year to prepare for these external assessments. To further support application of knowledge for the Core assessments an industry placement will be completed across both years of the programme usually in a school or Early Years setting. English, maths and digital skills are fully embedded into the programme and assessed throughout the different components.
When you enter Year 2 you will focus on the occupational specialism of Early Years and undertake a series of assessments, largely based in your industry placement, to show occupational competence against a range of standards. These will be externally moderated and allow you to show application of knowledge gained in a practical setting.
