Course Information
The Building a Resilient Life course teaches learners how to thrive, rather than just survive by building up their personal strength and wellbeing. Designed as a progression from the mental health taster courses, learners will deepen their understanding of resilience and how this underpins their overall wellbeing. Identifying their own resilience success stories, with examples and case studies from others to inspire and motivate their own personal development.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

1. Evaluate current wellbeing, including strengths, areas for development, challenges and successes

2. Set a personal SMART target for a chosen area of development, listing first three actions

3. Explain what resilience is and give three examples from own experience

4. Discuss wider examples of resilience and identify strategies that can be applied to own life

5. Revise current resilience strategies and practice new ones to add to a resilience toolkit.

6. Assess your progress through a weekly reflection’s diary, identifying successes and areas for development.

7. Support other learners to achieve their goals and learn from each other

8. Celebrate successes and choose a suitable learning progression route
The course will be delivered either at one of our community venues, or online. Please check details when enrolling.

All devices should have a camera, sound and a microphone so they are able to interact with their teacher and peers during the course.
· The teacher will use a range of activities to review learner’s knowledge throughout the course and identify any gaps and additional information required

· Learners will receive feedback in order to further develop their knowledge

· Learners will assess their knowledge at the start of the course and again at the end against the learning outcomes. This allows you to identify how much you have learnt and where you might need to do further study or research.

· Learners will also be supported to set an individual target(s) for the course based on personal goals and aspirations.

· Discussion and sharing of your ideas and opinions is encouraged to support and develop one another’s learning journey.
