Overview of Course

Meditation has long been regarded as a beneficial technique to help calm the mind and body to improve wellbeing. This two-hour session introduces participants to the fundamentals of meditation. Learners will receive a practical hands on experience of the benefits of meditation and explores simple meditation techniques that can be built easily into daily life. Learners will leave with clear understanding of how meditation can be a valuable tool for enhancing well-being and managing stress

• Describe the benefits available from meditation
• Participate in a meditation session
• Reflect on your experience of the session

Entry Requirements

This course is suitable for most ages and abilities; including beginners to intermediate.

You will complete an initial assessment to help your tutor to understand your current level of knowledge on the subject, this will be in written format at the start of the session.

In order to attend the course, learners should be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English at Entry Level 3 and above. If the course is delivered online learners earners will also need a basic level of IT skills to be able to access the course and follow online instructions. If training or support is needed, please enquire about our free ICT courses.
The course will be delivered in a classroom setting learners will need to wear comfortable clothing to move in and may be invited to access links via a smartphone (not complulsory)

How Your Course Will Be Assessed

Learners attend the live classroom session in the venue and time allocated. The session will be delivered live and learners will be supported to work through the session content. There will be practical participation elements and group/individual discussions/reflections. There is also a written element to the sessions to capture learning.

During the session you will have the opportunity to discuss your progress with the teacher and feedback will be provided to allow you to further develop your skills. You will also be encouraged to provide course feedback to your teacher and take part in end of course evaluation.
You will be asked to assess some key skills at the beginning of the course and again at the end so you are able to clearly see the progress you have made.

Learners will be completing MS forms and/or handouts. These resources can be emailed by the teacher prior to the course or session.

Cant Apply Reason
The online application and enrolment process is really simple, once you have clicked the “APPLY" or "ENROL” button you will be redirected to the portal where you either log in or create an account (if you haven’t done so previously). We will then ask you to give us a couple of bits of information like address, mobile phone number ect and that’s it.
Once your applications has been made the next step will be for you to book yourself onto one of our interview evenings, depending on availability you might be able to do this straight away but otherwise we will get in contact to arrange when you come in for an interview.
At any point you can log back into the portal throughout the year, update information like your predicted GCSE grades, update contact and consent information and keep a live track of your application.
