You’ll have the chance to practice all the skills you learn, from shampooing and styling to creating fabulous updos, using professional tools and products.
Our expert tutors will guide you every step of the way with exciting live demonstrations, showing you exactly how it’s done. We keep our class sizes small, which means you’ll get plenty of one-on-one support to help you build your confidence and perfect your techniques. Alongside all the practical sessions, you’ll also spend some time in the classroom learning the important theory behind hairdressing. 2 GCSE passes at a minimum of Grade 3, which must include a Grade 2 and 3 in English Language and Maths, in either combination.

You won’t find yourself sitting through lots of traditional exams. Instead, we focus on assessing your skills in a way that’s practical, fun, and truly reflects your abilities.
You'll be assessed mainly through practical observations in our salons. This is your time to shine! Our friendly tutors will watch you as you perform tasks like shampooing, blow-drying, and styling, giving you encouraging feedback to help you improve. You’ll also create a fantastic portfolio of your work. Think of it as your personal success story, filled with photos and evidence of all the amazing styles you’ve created. We’ll also have some short, simple online quizzes to check your understanding of the important theory. This approach helps build your confidence and gets you ready for a successful career in the salon industry. We’re here to support you and make sure you feel proud of your achievements
