Love to design, build, and bring ideas to life? The T Level in Manufacturing and Toolmaking is your chance to step into the world of engineering and learn the skills that keep industry moving. This course combines advanced classroom learning with practical, hands-on training, preparing you to create the tools, components, and systems that shape the future.
From the start of your course, the Toolmaking specialism puts you in the workshop and on the path to becoming a skilled technician. You’ll gain experience in machining, fitting, and assembly, mastering the techniques needed to manufacture precision tools and parts. You’ll also learn how to apply tool-making technologies to solve real engineering challenges—developing the problem-solving, technical, and creative skills employers want.
At the same time, the core modules give you a strong foundation in engineering knowledge. You’ll cover essential maths, materials and their properties, quality control, business awareness, and project management. This broad base makes sure you understand not just how things are made, but also why precision, safety, and efficiency are so important in modern manufacturing.
One of the highlights of the T Level is the industry placement—at least 45 days working with a leading employer. Here, you’ll put theory into practice, gain confidence, and see how tool-making technologies are applied in real-world engineering projects.
Equivalent to three A Levels, this T Level can launch you into higher apprenticeships, university degrees in engineering, or skilled roles in manufacturing, machining, and toolmaking.
If you’re ready to build the future with your own hands, this is the course for you.
