Course Overview Description

The Level 1 Plumbing course is designed for learners who are new to plumbing and want to gain a basic understanding of the industry. The course introduces essential plumbing skills, tools, and techniques in a supportive, hands-on learning environment. It is ideal for those considering a future career in plumbing or building services.

What Will I Learn

You will learn the basics of plumbing systems, including pipework, fittings, and common tools used in the trade. The course covers health and safety in a workshop environment, basic plumbing installations, and an introduction to heating systems. You will also develop employability skills such as teamwork, communication, and time management.

How Is The Course Delivered

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based lessons and practical workshop sessions. Learners will take part in demonstrations, hands-on tasks, and group activities to build confidence and skills. Teaching is delivered by experienced tutors with industry knowledge.

Entry Requirements

Learners should have an interest in plumbing or construction and a willingness to learn practical skills. Grade 3 required in English and Maths.

How Learning Assessed

Assessment is mainly practical and based on coursework completed throughout the course. You will also complete short written tasks and knowledge checks to support your practical work. There are no formal exams at Level 1.

What Careers

This course provides a foundation for progression to Level 2 Plumbing or other construction-related courses. It can also support entry into trainee roles, apprenticeships, or labouring positions within the plumbing and construction industry.

The online application and enrolment process is really simple, once you have clicked the “APPLY" or "ENROL” button you will be redirected to the portal where you either log in or create an account (if you haven’t done so previously). We will then ask you to give us a couple of bits of information like address, mobile phone number ect and that’s it.

Once your applications has been made the next step will be for you to book yourself onto one of our interview evenings, depending on availability you might be able to do this straight away but otherwise we will get in contact to arrange when you come in for an interview.

At any point you can log back into the portal throughout the year, update information like your predicted GCSE grades, update contact and consent information and keep a live track of your application.
