Course Information
Parents/carers can work alongside and support children with their creativity and Art skills. Teachers will guide learners with clear instructions to create a self-portrait inspired by a range of artists. Parents/carers with children will develop their confidence with essential KS2 art skills: sketching, using colour, design and scale through fun, engaging activities. Artist techniques will be explored and adopted to inspire and create a beautiful piece of Art.  
Taking part in Creative activities with Children is known to be supportive to the relationship and helps families to spend quality time together.

Aim: Create your very own printed Portrait taking inspiration from other artists.

By the end of the session, you will be able to:

- Identify KS2 stage art skill guidelines
- Practice art techniques – sketching, printing
- Create a plan for your portrait.
- Create a finished Printed Portrait.
- Discuss the work of other artists.
- Identify further learning opportunities
This course is delivered face to face in schools and libraries.

Learning will be though involvement in practical activities, collaborative tasks and games/quizzes.
No formal qualifications are required. However, in order to attend this course, you should be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English at Entry Level 3 and above.
During the session you will have the opportunity to discuss your progress with the teacher and feedback will be provided as you complete the tasks through the course.
All work will be completed in the session, however some homework tasks may be set to consolidate what you have learned in the session. Eg Continue with some of the tasks set in class to continue learning.

This course is a Taster Session (1 week only for 2.5 hours)

This course is suitable for KS2. Parents/carers must attend with their children as this is a collaborative course.

- Seasonal Crafts

There is no direct progression from this course, however there are a range of creative wellbeing courses or Family Learning courses that learners can access alongside other provision at Lancashire Adult learning. The course teacher will talk to learners about options and plan accordingly.
