Course Information
It’s easy to focus on what’s wrong with us, but how often do we focus on what’s right with us?
This course enables you recognise and improve your levels of confidence and self-esteem by recognising your skills, strengths and achievements in order to build you up and improve your overall wellbeing.
By working on your confidence, you will affect not only your own life, but the lives of those around you, enabling you to move forward towards your goals.
The course is two and a half hours per session and is delivered over two individual sessions or weeks. This can be adapted to the group as required.
During the course, you will participate in learning activities to build your confidence and celebrate your successes.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

• Explain the benefits of greater confidence and self-esteem
• Evaluate your confidence levels and areas for development
• Record your skills, achievements, successes and strengths
• Set a SMART goal to build your confidence further
• Identify progression routes to further your learning and development.
Online and Face to Face
The course will be delivered either at one of our community venues, or online. Please check details when enrolling.
For online courses, learners will need access to a computer, laptop or tablet device with access to the internet.
All devices should have a camera, sound and a microphone so that learners are able to interact with their teacher and peers during the course.
Activities for the sessions include:
• Active listening and reflective discussion
• Participation in individual and group/team tasks
• Personal reflection and note taking
Links to recommended websites and apps will be given to aid independent learning
In order to attend the course, learners should be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English at Entry Level 3 and above.
• The teacher will use a range of activities to review learner’s knowledge throughout the course and identify any gaps and additional information required
• Learners will receive feedback in order to further develop their knowledge
• Learners will assess their knowledge at the start of the course and again at the end against the learning outcomes. This allows you to identify how much you have learnt and where you might need to do further study or research.
• Learners will also be supported to set an individual target(s) for the course based on personal goals and aspirations.
You will be asked to complete a record of your learning to consolidate your new knowledge. This will be done either by hard copy or online (MS Forms). There will also be some worksheets (face to face) and other written exercises. Please ensure that you have a pen and paper/notebook with you.
Learners will be working on projects and will be encouraged to undertake personal research before and during the course to offer inspiration and context. Learning mats used during the course will capture learning against the course outcomes.
Following completion of this course the following progression option(s) are available:

• Building a Resilient Life (six-week course)
