This is a practical and interactive course that is meant to be lots of fun whilst learning and developing important skills. It is designed to ignite a curiosity and confidence in children that will lead them to explore their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) skills further. Learning through play has been widely recognised as an effective way of developing skills. As part of the activities – children will also be developing their maths, communication and teamwork skills. The course also allows a safe and organised environment for parents/carers to spend quality time “playing” with their children and taking key lessons away about working together to encourage healthier relationships.
By the end of the course, parents/carers will be able to:
- Support the child in choosing & identifying correct pieces to match the instructions and build the robot
- State a definition for coding
- Define what the acronym STEM is and how this links to Lego Robotics
- Identify further learning opportunities and aspirations
