Course Overview Description
The aim of this course is to introduce the learners to the role of a mentor including the advantages and disadvantages of mentoring. They will then look at mentoring agreements and explore the difference between informal and formal agreements. Finally, they will investigate the support available to mentors. Learners will look at the role that effective communication plays in successful mentoring and explore the setting in which mentoring may be put into practice.
These may be learners who wish to access this training with a view to progressing to further qualifications or employment within health and social care, to complement other qualifications within health or health and social care, or to develop in their current job role within health and social care.

Learners will also be supported to set an individual target(s) for the course based on starting points, personal goals and career aspirations.
