Course Information
Come to this Family Learning taster session from Lancashire Adult Learning and explore the range of courses we offer!

There is so much to learn with us and this session is the perfect way to see snippets of the wonderful courses we provide for free in your local school or venue. Teachers will be on hand to support you and talk to you about the courses we have available and how they can benefit parents/carers and their children. Courses include English, Maths, STEM and Art.
This is a practical and interactive course that is meant to be lots of fun whilst learning and starting to develop important skills. It is designed to ignite a curiosity and confidence in children that will lead them to explore their STEM, English, Maths and Art skills further. Learning through play has been widely recognised as an effective way of developing skills. As part of the activities – children will also be developing their maths, communication and teamwork skills.

The course also allows a safe and organised environment for parents/carers to spend quality time “playing” with their children and taking key lessons away about working together to encourage healthier relationships.

By the end of the course, parents/carers will be able to:

· Support their child in trying lots of different activities
· Ask questions to understand the learning taken from each activity
· Identify at least one course that parents/carers would like to develop further at the local school/venue
· Identify further learning opportunities and aspirations
This course can be accessed by all parents and carers with children in primary schools. The course will require learners to be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English at Entry Level 3 and above. Learners will be required to complete a course enrolment form before proceeding with the course which they can either do online before the course if the venue have a link, or on the day of the course with the teacher.
This course is delivered face to face, usually in a local school or suitable venue – please check details before enrolling.

The teacher will support and guide the learners through the session so they are able to complete the learning activities.
