Course Information
The focus of this taster session is around the creative benefits to our wellbeing. You will experience a range of creative techniques and activities designed to encourage mindfulness and relaxation. Being immersed in creative processes helps us to switch off and be in the moment. This is a practical session where you will be guided through simple creative activities. You will also be asked to take part in discussions around stress, creativity and wellbeing.
This short course focuses on the self-care aspect of wellbeing alongside elements of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing: Give, Connect, Take Notice & Keep Learning. Taking part in Arts-based activities is known to relieve stress, increase focus and creativity to provide an increased sense of personal wellbeing. We hope this course will give a much-needed boost to your wellbeing!
The course will be delivered face to face or live online through Zoom or Teams with demonstrations by the teacher. Supported by a learning mat to provide information and capture your progress. You will be asked to complete a short quiz to record your progress.

The teacher will use a range of activities to review learner’s knowledge throughout the course and identify any gaps and additional information required  #.

Learners will receive feedback in order to further develop their knowledge  Learners will assess their knowledge at the start of the course and again at the end against the learning outcomes. This allows you to identify how much you have learnt and where you might need to do further study or research.

 Learners will also be supported to set an individual target(s) for the course based on personal goals and aspirations. Discussion and sharing of your ideas and opinions is encouraged to support and develop one another’s learning journey.
Learners should be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English at Entry Level 3 and above.  You can take part with no prior knowledge or experience and all activities will be demonstrated by the teacher.

The course is 2.5 hours delivered in 1 session

So the course can start on time, it’s important to be at the venue or logged on 5-10 minutes before the start time.
This course has been designed as a taster session, with the option to progress onto either- Exploring Slow Processes Or Colour your Life through Art. Your tutor will talk to you about this and arrange the next course. You can also side step onto other courses within the Creative wellbeing curriculum
