Course Overview Description
Whether you want a website for personal or business use, this course will guide you through the steps to create a site that you can be proud of, using a vast amount of FREE resources using world renowned website building platform, WordPress. Over 60% of website worldwide use WordPress’ content management system which gives you an idea as to how important it is to be familiar with this platform.
What Will I Learn
You will learn how to create a simple website using tools and techniques to add functionality, navigation buttons and hyperlinks. You will also develop skills in planning and designing a website and once complete you will review the finished website and make suggestions for improvement.
How Is The Course Delivered
• The teacher will use a range of activities to review learner’s knowledge throughout the course and identify any gaps and additional information required
• Learners will receive feedback in order to further develop their knowledge
• Learners will assess their knowledge at the start of the course and again at the end against the learning outcomes. This allows you to identify how much you have learnt and where you might need to do further study or research.
• Learners will also be supported to set an individual target(s) for the course based on personal goals and aspirations.
Course Work
For accreditation, learners will complete a portfolio to achieve accreditation at Level 1
Entry Requirements
This course is beginner level so no previous subject knowledge is required. You should have basic digital skills and be able to access the internet independently. Learners should be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English at Entry Level 3 and above.
How Learning Assessed
The course will involve group discussions, paired work and individual tasks to explore a variety of aspects of Website Design. There will be handouts and activities for participants to complete with teacher guidance and feedback. The main time will be spent on computers/laptops in practical sessions.
You will also have the opportunity to access digital resources using MS Teams classroom.
Additional Information
The course is delivered via one 3 hour class every week for 10 weeks.

The online application and enrolment process is really simple, once you have clicked the “APPLY" or "ENROL” button you will be redirected to the portal where you either log in or create an account (if you haven’t done so previously). We will then ask you to give us a couple of bits of information like address, mobile phone number ect and that’s it.
Once your applications has been made the next step will be for you to book yourself onto one of our interview evenings, depending on availability you might be able to do this straight away but otherwise we will get in contact to arrange when you come in for an interview.
At any point you can log back into the portal throughout the year, update information like your predicted GCSE grades, update contact and consent information and keep a live track of your application.
