Course Information
The Brickwork Academy at Accrington and Rossendale College is a six-week, project based introduction to working in the construction industry. Each session builds on the skills and knowledge developed in the previous week, giving you the opportunity to put your learning into practice as your project takes shape. Working in our college workshops with experienced tutors, you’ll gain a realistic insight into college level study and the practical demands of brickwork, finishing the academy by bringing everything you’ve learnt together to complete a final task you can be proud of.
Develop real brickwork skills, learn basic setting out and construction techniques, and work on trade projects in our college workshops over six weeks. You will work alongside experienced tutors using the same tools and materials as the industry. A solid introduction to what a career in construction looks and feels like.
You must be in Year 10 or Year 11 to take part in this academy.

Our courses are funded by the Department for Education (DfE) and the Lancashire Combined County Authority (LCCA).

In some circumstances, this funding allows us to offer courses at a reduced cost to learners who meet certain eligibility criteria. Below are the standard course fees for Lancashire residents and, where applicable, the reduced fees available to eligible learners.

To qualify for reduced fees, you may be required to complete a fee assessment and provide evidence to support your eligibility.

Text Value

The standard fee for anyone living outside of the LCCA funded area (e.g. if your home address is in the Greater Manchester devolved funded area) is charged at £12.10 per hour, but may be higher for some courses.
