Course Overview Description

An inspiring introductory programme that helps students build confidence, creativity and practical skills through hands on projects in areas like art, design, digital media and photography. Learners explore different creative techniques, experiment with materials and digital tools, and develop core skills to allow progression onto Level 2.

What Will I Learn

In Level 1 Creative Media course, you can expect to develop practical skills in areas such as photography, video, graphic design, animation and digital media. You will learn how to plan and create creative projects, use industry-standard software and equipment, and develop their ideas from concept to finished product. The course also helps students build confidence, teamwork and communication skills while exploring different areas of the creative media industry.

How Is The Course Delivered

Entry Requirements

You will need two GCSEs at Grade 3 or above, including English Language or Maths. Where a Grade 3 has not been achieved in one of these subjects, a minimum Grade 2 in that subject is required.

Our courses are funded by the Department for Education (DfE) and the Lancashire Combined County Authority (LCCA).

In some circumstances, this funding allows us to offer courses at a reduced cost to learners who meet certain eligibility criteria. Below are the standard course fees for Lancashire residents and, where applicable, the reduced fees available to eligible learners.

To qualify for reduced fees, you may be required to complete a fee assessment and provide evidence to support your eligibility.

The standard fee for anyone living outside of the LCCA funded area (e.g. if your home address is in the Greater Manchester devolved funded area) is charged at £12.10 per hour, but may be higher for some courses.
