Lay the foundations for a successful career with A Level Law!

You’ll explore how the legal system operates, studying criminal law, tort law and human rights, and developing the skills to think like a lawyer.

This course sharpens your critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills — vital for law, criminology, policing, and many more fields.

If you want to understand and influence the world of justice, this is your first step.
Unlock the world of justice with A Level Law—a subject that brings real-life drama and decision-making into the classroom. From high-profile criminal cases to everyday contracts and human rights, you’ll uncover how the legal system works and why it matters. This isn’t just about learning rules; it’s about asking big questions, challenging ideas, and learning how to think like a lawyer. You’ll analyse real scenarios, debate ethical dilemmas, and sharpen your ability to argue with confidence and precision.

You’ll begin with The Nature of Law and the English Legal System, exploring who makes the laws, how courts operate, and the crucial role of judges, juries, and magistrates. In Criminal Law, you’ll tackle gripping cases involving murder, manslaughter, and theft—while testing the principles of intent, responsibility, and defence. Tort Law opens up the world of civil justice, showing how issues like negligence and liability impact people’s lives. Finally, you’ll specialise in either Contract Law, the foundation of business and everyday agreements, or Human Rights Law, which examines freedom, justice, and equality in modern society.

Throughout, you’ll develop skills that go far beyond the classroom: logical thinking, persuasive communication, problem-solving, and the ability to stand your ground in debate. Whether you dream of a career in law, politics, or business—or simply want to understand how society is held together—this course gives you the insight and confidence to make your voice heard and your ideas matter."
A Level Law uses real life cases to explore legal principles, the legal system, and criminal and civil law. You’ll develop analytical thinking, essay writing, and debate skills in tutor led sessions, preparing you for argument based discussions and deeper legal understanding.
